Incorporated in 1779, the Town of Washington was named for our country's first president who traveled through the town during the American Revolution. Today, Washington is a vibrant community with several business districts including Washington Depot and New Preston. Whether shopping at a local boutique, boating on Lake Waramaug or hiking in one of the Steep Rock Preserves, there is much to enjoy about this corner of Connecticut.
